Here's welcome news for our winemaking audience. As reported in Vino Joy News (edited by Natalie Wang, who is well-versed on the Chinese wine market), officials have suggested that the 150-200% tariffs leveraged on Australian wine imports to China will be lifted by the end of June.
This is very positive news given that the Chinese wine market was worth $1.2b for our winemakers, and the tariffs caused grapes not to be picked this year.
Of course, there are plenty of things that could happen in the meantime, like a submarine deal getting in the way of trade diplomacy...
